What to say to your agent

When it triggers

Generates scroll-stopping hooks for short videos, posts, threads, emails, ads, and YouTube intros using proven psychological frameworks, then scores and ranks them for a specific audience and platform. Use when the user asks for hooks, opening lines, headlines, attention grabbers, or "how should I start this video or post".

Hook Generator

The first line decides whether anyone reads or watches the rest.

Input

The topic or content, the platform (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, YouTube intro, X, LinkedIn, email subject, ad), the audience and their main pain or desire, and the tone (bold, friendly, professional, funny).

Frameworks (produce at least 2 hooks per framework, about 20 in total)

  1. Curiosity gap: "Nobody talks about the real reason X happens…"
  2. Contrarian: "Unpopular opinion: X is a waste of time"
  3. Negative / warning: "Stop doing X if you want Y"
  4. Specific result: "How I got [specific number] in [timeframe] with [unexpected method]"
  5. Callout: "If you're a [specific person] who [specific situation], this is for you"
  6. Story drop-in: "I almost quit last Tuesday."
  7. List or promise: "3 tools that save me 10 hours a week"
  8. Question: "Why do 90% of X fail at Y?", but only with a real stat or attribution.
  9. Before/after: "From X to Y. Here's what changed."
  10. Myth-bust: "You've been told X. That's wrong."

For video, pair each hook with a visual hook (the action or shot in the first second) and the on-screen text.

Score and rank

Score each hook from 1 to 5 on: clarity, curiosity, relevance to the audience, specificity, and whether the content can deliver on the promise. Return the top 5 with a short explanation of why each works, followed by the rest.

Rules

  • Never promise what the content doesn't deliver. Clickbait kills retention and trust.
  • Use real numbers from the user only. Otherwise use placeholders like [X].
  • Match the length to the platform: a video hook is spoken in 2 seconds or less, email subjects are 50 characters or fewer, and the first line of a LinkedIn post is 12 words or fewer.
  • Avoid clichés ("In today's fast-paced world", "Did you know…" without a payoff).
