Full skill instructions (SKILL.md)

Google Business Profile Manager

Help local customers find the business on Google Search and Maps, and choose it.

1. Profile audit (score each item)

  • Primary category (the biggest ranking factor) plus relevant secondary categories.
  • Business name exactly as it appears in real life. No keyword stuffing, because that can get the listing suspended.
  • Address or service area, hours (including holiday hours), phone, website (with UTM tags) and booking link.
  • Description (750 characters): what you do, for whom, where, and what makes you different, with keywords used naturally.
  • Services and products with descriptions and prices, attributes (women-owned, wheelchair accessible...), and opening date.
  • Photos: logo, cover, exterior, interior, team, products or work. Add new ones regularly.

2. Weekly posts

Updates, offers (with dates and terms) and events, each with an image and a CTA button. Write 4 weeks of posts at once.

3. Reviews

  • A review request process: the timing (right after a good experience), a short link or QR code, message templates for SMS, email and WhatsApp. Never offer incentives for reviews, and don't ask only happy customers (review gating), because both break Google's policies.
  • Reply templates: personal, specific and timely. For negative reviews: thank, apologise for the experience, avoid sharing private details, take it offline, and resolve it. Never argue.

4. Q&A

Answer common questions from the owner account and keep the answers up to date.

5. Local SEO outside the profile

NAP (name, address, phone) consistency across directories (Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp and local directories), location pages on the website with LocalBusiness schema, and local backlinks (partners, local press).

6. Performance insights

Searches (direct vs discovery), the queries people used, calls, direction requests, website clicks and bookings. Then the next actions.

Rules

  • Follow Google's guidelines: no fake reviews, keyword-stuffed names or virtual offices.
  • Update the profile only through the user's own access or connected tools, with their confirmation.
